Nine Mornings

Today marks the 9th day before Christmas and also the start of the Simbang Gabi or Misa de Gallo. I was always too lazy to get up in the morning to attend the 9 mornings before. It all started last year at the peak of our board exams and I promised from then on that I would do it every year.

I was actually a little excited to attend the first day that I wasn't able to sleep very well.hahaha. And then I woke up at 3am which apparently was too early considering the church was just near our house. Since I didn't know how to drive, I had to drag my parents along. When we arrived, there were a lot of people already and the only available seats were upfront and they were too shy to sit there so they decided to stay outside. I, on the other hand, preferred sitting there 'coz then I wouldn't hear the priest when we were all the way back.

I was only able to take pictures after the mass so the people were already leaving. My mom actually asked me why I was bringing a camera and if there is one thing I've learned in the past, it is to keep silent when you know they wouldn't understand.haha

The homily was more on catechism and not reflective but I really learned a lot. And I really loved the decorations inside the church, simple lang but very classy. Too bad, my photos didn't do justice 'coz I was rushing to get the pictures taken.

I have 8 more mornings to go so I hope I will be able to finish all of it. How about you? Have you attended the first morning?

P.S. I'm already very excited on the 22nd, I'll be meeting bloggers Kryz Uy again and Camille Co for the first time! Gaaaah!
