Spontaneity

Hi everyone! Gaahd, I miss blogging so much. I'm sorry I haven't updated in a while. Ever since I left for Cebu, everything has become so spontaneous. And can you guess where I am now?

Yes, that's right. I'm in the beautiful place of Bohol. Crazy right? I haven't been in this place for so long and it feels so good to be back here again. For those who don't know, Bohol is the birthplace of my parents and it has been my second home ever since.

When the company I applied for in Cebu scheduled my final interview for next week, I had to get out of the boarding house 'coz it's very boring and I constantly bawled my eyes out when I remembered my family back home.  So my mom decided that I take a quick trip to Bohol since it was just two hours away and here I am now! I had to take the trip all by myself and it was both scary and liberating at the same time. Talk about spontaneity!

Anyway, I will really try to take some photos here and share them as soon as I can. I think that's about it for now. See you on my next post!

I bid Adieu

All my bags are packed but...I'm not yet ready to go.

Okay, this is gonna get a little melodramatic so you might wanna brace yourself or scoot along now.haha.

In a few hours, I will be leaving my hometown and it's so ridiculous how I miss it already even if I'm still here. I've been living with my parents for the longest time and because of that, I've always wanted to try and brave it out on my own. But I don't know, it's always hard when you're leaving someone or something you've been used to for a very long time in exchange of something scary and uncertain.

A couple of days ago I have never been so sure of this decision but now, I've been having a lot of doubts and I'm starting to second guess myself. What if I'm making the wrong decision? Or what if it doesn't work out the way I envisioned it to? Believe me, I could go on and on.

So tonight I'm leaving with only the comfort of the idea of having to learn a lot of new things in this adventure. It's definitely not gonna be a walk in the park but there's no way I would learn if I refuse to move. There's no way I would learn if I won't take risks. There's no way i would learn if I stay comfortable.

I'm not so sure how I'm going to continue with this blog because there's a lot of things to consider. But this is something that I love and this is something that has kept me sane for a while so I'm really gonna try my best to update once in a while.

Wide-eyed Wondergirl,

Home for the Books

If you've been reading my blog, you'd know how much I love to read. Aside from hauling clothes and shoes, book shopping has been one of my relied on stress reliever. I always have this urge to visit a bookstore whenever I can and I almost never go out empty-handed. There's even a lot of them I haven't read yet and was just bought out of impulse.

So anyway, I found this really cute and cool bookshelf ideas from Tumblr and I can't help but share them here. Take your pick:

This one is really cool since I almost always read books before I go to sleep.

Staircase as a bookshelf is a genius. How can you not save space with this?

This one would also be fun in the living room, don't you think?

Ah, this one has sophistication written all over it.

An also good alternative to the staircase idea.

Looks a little bit disorganized but still so cool.

I think this one's good for the little kids.

A good twist to the boring usual bookshelf. Still simple but fashyown in a way.

This one I will definitely do in the future. How is that not cool?

It's sad that I'm not gonna be able to bring my books when I leave. I will only be bringing Paulo Coelho with me, that is the Alchemist mainly because it has served as an inspiration to me ever since and I need a great deal of it in my journey to Neverland.haha

So, what do you think of these ideas? Cool huh?

Celebration for the Preppy One

After spending the day with le family last Sunday, it was about time I meet with my long lost friends.haha. It's been a while since we've sat down together and talk just about anything under and over the sun and I never realized how much I missed them until then.

I decided to meet up with them just to talk and bond before I leave but then it became an early celebration of Yani's birthday. And although we were not complete (Zhy was MIA 'coz of some "health" reasons.haha ), I still had a great time catching up with them.

Tiffy and Yani.

Macaroni Salad which was really good.

We grubbed on some comfort food instead of the usual visits to restaurants and we had fun all the same. I'll be missing these girls terribly!! :c

To my very pretty, smart and fashyown friend who will soon become a doctor, thank you for everything. I wish you all the best and know that I will always be here. Stay preppy all the time.haha ;p

Year Twenty-Six

Let me start off this entry by thanking God for me giving me such wonderful, hardworking and loving parents. It's been roughly 26 years since they've met and until now, they have been a constant reminder of an unconditional love and partnership that grows stronger every single year. The year that has been had a lot of issues between us but I would never trade both of you with anyone else.

Okaaay, I think that's about enough drama.haha. So here is the food entry that has long been promised, in celebration of my parents' 26th wedding anniversary.

Pescado Al Fresco.

Sinful Belly Sizzlers.haha

Yummy Chix Ahoy

I've always been fascinated with the collection of thingamajigs on their walls.

When we arrived, the place was packed so we had to wait a little while outside. We brought Gab along and he was a handful, as usual. In a matter of minutes, he was able to knock down toy displays from Toy Kingdom, almost wanted to buy all of the candies at Candy Corner and couldn't sit through dinner without grabbing anything breakable. haha

But I will terribly miss this boy once I leave. It's so ridiculous how I cried last night just because I couldn't imagine not waking up next to him. And before you ask, no, he's not my kid but he's just as close to me as one. :c

So anyway, I'll be meeting up with some of my friends in a little while and since eating is one of our favorite pastime, it's very likely that I would have another food entry tomorrow.teehee^^

Little Miss Sunshine

Okay, this is totally unrelated to this post but I hafta share this with you. When I opened my twitter a while ago, I got a tweet from GoodBlogPosts2 (My Blogworld). Turns out my post yesterday entitled The Sisterhood of The Traveling Scarf made it as a top story on The Travel Daily!! How freakin' oozzuum is that? And when I checked it out, it was legit! I have no idea how it got there but gaaah, I still can't believe it! Check it out HERE.

Now on to my outfit. You  might notice I'm back indoors mainly because it was too sunny outside. It's not humid though, I guess Mr. Sun just got a pretty good sleep last night.haha. Anyway, I was supposed to debut my new DIY necklace together with this outfit but it didn't turn out as good as I wanted it to be so it'll have to wait.

Tank top from Bonkers, Skirt from The Urban Emporium

Thrifted White Polo and a weird pose.haha

My overused shoes from Spruce.

Stacked up bracelets from different brands

Rings from Aizilym
I thought the outfit was again a little too girly so I decided to add up some accessories for an added boho/grunge look to it. I hope it worked though.haha

Btw, next week will be a little hectic for me so I might not be able to update much..boooo :c I can't spill the beans yet but I'm hoping for some positive outcome.

So, how was your week everyone?

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Scarf

A couple of days ago, I stumbled upon The Blog of Scarves.net and I got so interested with a certain project that they were doing. It's entitled The Sisterhood of the Traveling Scarf. If you've already seen the movie, you pretty much have an idea what this is all about.

It has the same concept but instead of pants being passed around to people from different parts of the world, they will be using a scarf. When I read all about it, I thought it would be fun if I started something of my own. But of course, all the credits go to the people who started this awesome project.

Not the actual scarf that I will be using.

Although I tweaked some of the rules, almost all of it are original from The Blog of Scarves.net.

1. You can keep the scarf for eight days. The scarf must then be passed on to a fellow blogger who you deem creative, fashionable and amazeballs.

2. During your eight days, add a small and crafty decoration to the scarf. Be tasteful. Be clever. Make sure it represents you.
3. During your eight days, you must wear the scarf at least twice. Take photos with it! Show how the traveling scarf spent time with you.
4. You must share your adventures with the scarf on your blog. Show your best photos, talk about what you added to the scarf and why.
5. The 21st blogger to receive the scarf must send the scarf back to me to go into scarf hibernation.
6. Any and all contents you receive in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Scarf package should be passed on to the next member of the sisterhood. Feel free to add trinkets, notes, and surprises, but don’t take any away. (Gotta let the next gal feel the love!)
7. But if you decide to give a remembrance that says something about you to the next member, wrap it and indicate if she could keep it or pass it on.
8. You must track the scarf’s journey on the enclosed map. Put a dot on your hometown with your initials. Add a trail from where it came from to where you are located.
9. You must write on the Sisterhood of the Traveling Scarf’s small journal detailing the most exciting thing that happened to you while wearing the scarf.
10. You can wear the scarf any way you want (on the neck, as a belt or as a head piece) as long as you wear it.
11.  You MUST take care of the scarf while it is in your possession. Don’t let anyone outside of the sisterhood wear the scarf.
12. You MUST look chic and sassy while wearing the scarf. But of course, you always look that way. ;)

I think that's about it. As of the meantime, I'm still deciding on what scarf I will be using and I still have to organize some of the things that go with it. I will officially start this project early next week. I'm also still on the process of picking who I will pass the scarf on to. If you want in, you can e-mail me and I will think about it. Cool project huh? (For me at least.haha)

Golden Globe Red Carpet Looks

This I gotta squeeze in before I leave for Cebu tonight. I'm afraid I cant post anything for the next two days since I won't be bringing the lappy for this short trip. But I'll try my best to update you as much as I can.

Meanwhile, here are some of the red carpet looks from yesterday's Golden Globe Awards:

Nicole Kidman in Versace

Katherine Mcphee in Donna Karan- fresh lang ang peg

Evan Rachel Wood in Cavalli

Salma Hayek in Gucci-who owns Gucci btw.haha
Kate Beckinsale in Cavalli-too simple for her but she looks really sexy in it.

Kate Winslet in Jenny Packham

Paula Patton in Monique Lhuillier-stand out in yellow

Natalie Portman in Lanvin - This is so Natalie. Class to the nth level

Mila Kunis in Dior

Emma Stone in Lanvin- One of my fave!
Kristen Wiig in Bill Blass- Nude Colors for 2012
Elle Macpherson in Zac Posen-would've looked better in different color.

Sofia Vergara in Vera Wang- Sexy as ever

Rooney Mara in Nina Ricci- Classic black works for her

Tilda Swinton in Haider Ackermann

Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace-Another fave!

Madonna in Reem Acra-hate the lower part half of this gown.

Charlize Theron in Dior- This is it, my pick for the night. GANDA!!
Michelle Williams in Jason Wu

Lea Michelle in Marchesa- This just doesn't work for her

Claire Danes in J. Mendel- Sexy back!
Sarah Michelle Gellar in Monique Lhuillier-dubbed as one of the worst dressed for the night.

Busy Phillips' fringe gown-love this too!
I personally loved Charlize Theron who looked beyond gorgeous in her gown. And Sofia Vergara who, for some reasons, always look smoldering every single time. Emma Stone and Angelina Jolie, aahhh, I couldn't even put into words.

So, who are your top picks? I'd love to hear about it.
