Halloween Fun!

Warning: This post is picture heavy. Some of the photos are too cute to be filtered out. teehee ^^

I have been itching for this event for a couple of days now. Every year, SM Mall organizes different events for Halloween and one of the most awaited part (well, for me.haha) is the trick or treat for kids of all ages. Instead of the usual asking of candies and goodies from different houses, they were to go trick or treating from the different stores in the mall.

I thought these girls were the cutest. Too bad I only captures it from the back.tsk.

Aren't these babydolls adorable?

Children would wear their Halloween costumes and the best and most creative ones are given prizes at the end of the event. This year, after the trick or treating, the kids were asked to parade their costumes around the mall in a single line. But of course, kids as they are, single line meant more than one.haha. They were lead by a loud band with their majorettes all dressed up too. It's almost like the mall has become a party venue, which was kinda' awesome.

Pumpkin boy, Snow White and Batman were there too :D

Boy, these two really came prepared. If you can only see their wardrobe.haha

These cutie-patoooies I just had to take a picture of.

And since I came alone, I had the luxury of chasing the kids with the cutest outfits without someone whining not far behind. Although it took me some balls to ask the parents if they were willing to let their children be photographed by a stranger, they were very gracious enough to say yes. :D

I think these girls are 'barkada'. They were inseparable the entire time.

This guy giving his treats had his costume on too.

Kids were all over the place, running, jumping, crying, and whining about their costumes. And of course, where kids are, stage parents are also there with their cameras on hand, running behind their kid, nudging their not-so-confident and a-little-shy prince or princesses. And most of them looked proud of how adorable their little kids are.

Those were twins! Cute!

The tough guys!

I'm in love with that little prince and that pirate!

This last picture of a boy had eyes swooning all over him. He was definitely the crowd's favorite. Not only was his costume believable, it was also very unique and one of a kind. I was bit worried for the boy though, he seemed to be very uncomfortable with it. I mean, it's not easy having that costume and walking all over the mall. Oh how parents can be!

The center of everyone's attention.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish the program to know who the winners were. But judging from the pictures, you already know who I'm rooting for.haha

Sunday Snapshots 2

So, my sister told me, "It's Sunday today!!" "What about it?", I asked. "It's time for your Snapshots!"

I wish that was exactly what happened. But no. I had to beg my sister to do this for me. I mean, it's just once a week. How can she complain?lol

Anywhaaay, this is the product of an unemployed wondergirl. But not for long. Yehes, I think I got a new job, but it's not yet final, so imma keep it shut for now. I'll give you the deets soon.

It always come in 3's. You decide which is better.haha

Going back, we went to mass around 4 in the afternoon and it was about to rain so I decided to wear flats. Again. For the main reason that I hate mud on my feet. And the sheer printed polo was perfect in case it gets chilly outside.

I always see this pose on my favorite fashion bloggers so I'm trying it out too.haha

We went to the mall afterwards for groceries and since mom is not around, we had to go home early to cook dinner. Well, in my case, going home early means more time for snapshots.haha. The older sister is always the one more interested in cooking. But hey, I'm learning!

Plain black flats for today. Veins still sticking out. grr.

I need more convincing powers for next Sunday!! help!haha

What I'm wearing:

  • Printed sheer polo from Principles
  • Jeans from Red Jeans
  • Plain black flats from Janeo
  • Pearl earrings from my sister.haha
  • Necklace gift from mom
  • Vintage ring from SM Accessories
  • Black beaded bracelet gift from Yani
  • Heart bracelet from my sister

Awesome Finds

I went to the mall yesterday and indulged myself with my weekly visit at National Bookstore. But this time, I wasn't drooling on books, instead my attention was caught with these awesome pieces.

Have you ever experienced putting your earphones as untangled as you can but when you pull it out, it magically tangles itself? This happens to me almost all of the time. So when I saw this cute dog earphone winder, I just had to buy it!
Happens all the time.haha

Earphone winder for 20php only at NBS

I also bought Vapur, the anti-bottle water container. I've seen this a few months ago from a friend but when I went to NBS, they ran out of stock. So, when I saw this on the racks, I was more than elated! What with all the features , how can you not be convinced? They also have it in different colors to your liking with a price less than 50php.

How cool is this?

Got mine in pink!
As a book lover, I always have a thing for bookmarks. But I kinda' got bored with the usual one that has a string on it, so I got myself a new one. You can use this folded bookmark by just putting it on the edge of the page of the book you are reading. Does the same purpose, but without the usual string on it.

Can you believe I didn't even spend a single peso with these buys? I was able to accumulate enough points in my NBS card to purchase all of it.haha. Lucky me!

Now this next one I was able to buy at Robinson's. For a while now, I have been looking for a sleeping mask to aid me in my sleep. Since the baby of my sister came along, the lights in our room has always been kept on even at night. And I find it hard sleeping with the lights on. I finally saw one which comes in different designs and since it's almost Halloween, I decided to go for this:

I could use this for halloween.haha

I sound like I'm advertising with the way I wrote this post.haha

Anywhoay, I'm thinking of showing you what I carry along in my bag in my next post. Keep posted!

Catching up

As I found this on my draft, I told myself I have got to post something as close to the time it happened 'coz my memory always fail me. Sometimes, when it takes too long, I forget about the nitty gritty details of what happened during that time.

Anywhoay, me and my friend Tiffany decided to catch up on some things since we haven't seen each other for like forever. She wanted to borrow some of my Paulo Coelho books anyway which makes up for a good excuse to meet up. She has been a busy bee with her work that she always turns down my invitations for a good chat. I envy her actually, at least she's doing something with her life while I'm at home bumming my ass off.

Waiting in vain for my date.
Funny how I just talked about the betrayal of my memory when I remembered how EPIC FAIL this meet-up turned out. Tiffy told me to come earlier so we could have more time for chikas, but again I was running late, by the time I was on the commute, I forgot the main reason why I was meeting up with her. Yes, God forbid, I forgot the books she was suppose to borrow. I almost wanted to kick myself for such stupidity.

Yes, I was hungry.haha
So I texted her about the mishap and thank God, she still pushed through with the meeting. We decided to eat lunch at Greenwich and although I had to wait for a while 'coz it turns out, she was the one who got late ( making even our offenses.haha ), I had fun during our chikas nonetheless.

We actually had the same order but the waiter accidentally gave the wrong one to her.
After lunch, since I was waiting for my appointment with the dentist, I invited myself to their quarters to pass the time. She is working as a Secretary and a Medical Emergency Responder at HELP RESCUE 411, which is basically like the 911 in the United States. She is one of the few included in the first batch which I was also supposed to be apart of, but since some other opportunities came, I had to bail.

My photo of her in her office.
Ever since college, she was always fond of the Emergency Department during our exposures in the hospital. She likes the adrenaline and the rush it entails to be able to save lives which is why it didn't come as a shock to me that she chose this field over an experience to work as a nurse in a certain hospital. Although I know she is tired of her everyday work, I know this is what she truly wants because she is with her kind of people, as she says. I was glad to meet some of her funny and hospitable co-workers also.

Tiffy with her co-workers.

Wow, I never meant for this entry to be this long. I have got to organize my posts next time. I guess this serves as an ad for them as well.

If ever a life needs saving, never hesitate to call 411 ( for CDO only, if I'm not mistaken )

Sunday Snapshots

WARNING: This is a feeble attempt of me trying on some poses like all the fashionistas out there. And I say feeblelol.

After the mass earlier today, me and my sister had this idea of getting snapshots just to pass the time. When it's Sunday, there's really not much to do in the morning since the mall is still closed and when you're left with nothing to do, the weirdest ideas materialize.

Location: Parent's bedroom. This was the only room in the house where there was actually a free space. And since this is my first time doing this (I'm not usually the camwhoring type), I didn't have the guts to do it outside the house or anywhere else where someone could see me besides my sister, who was by the way my photog for this so-called "project".
.
I don't know how to do those not-looking-at-the-camera-but-still-manages-to-look-cute poses.haha
Look, all my veins are sticking out! ew!
The shoes I'm wearing has been one of my favorites since ever! And it's the oldest one in the bunch, if you look at it closely, you'd notice the skin peeling off a little already. If this one ever retires, I'm gonna replace it with just the same model. I love how it gives an extra ooomph when I'm just wearing a plain outfit.

Cat connector ring and elephant necklace!
That wall need to be repainted! haha

Credits to my sister who took all the shots. I'll try my best to do better next time.haha

What I'm wearing:

  • sleeveless top from Artwork
  • blue blazer from Mom's Closet (literally.haha)
  • black pants from Hotstuff
  • flats still from Artwork
  • necklace, ring and studded bracelet from Aizilym
  • twist leather bracelet from What a Girl Wants

When Ivy met Kryzzzie

When I learned the other day that Ms. Kryz Uy was going to be in the same city that I was, I totally flipped out!  I even tweeted her what time she would be at What a Girl Wants, feeling close that I am, but she dint reply. I had no idea what time she would be there, so I decided to go there after lunch.

I immediately went to the store and acted like I was gonna buy something. Well, I did buy something, a leather adjustable bracelet, just to make the act believable <laff>.  And when I had the chance, I asked the saleslady, as cool and nonchalant as I can, if Ms. Uy was gonna be there today and she said, she was gonna be there at around 3pm. I looked at my watch, realizing I still have 2 and a half hours to wait for her. Since I wasn't able to eat lunch because of my excitement, I went to KFC for some finger lickin' goodness. And yes, I was that determined that I was willing to wait. lol.

My all-time favorite, Chicken Ala King. Yum!
A closer look.
This was the adjustable bracelet that I bought.

I was able to grab a copy of What a Girl Wants' mini magazine and as I was browsing through, I came across a very familiar face. Ms. Andrea Monaterio, a fellow Kagay-anon, photographed by Mr. Bon Aserios, was featured for her winning look. And guess what she won? A 10,000php  worth of shopping spree at WAGW! *jealous*
Ms. Monasterio's winning look.

I had to walk the whole mall just to kill the time and I swear, I couldn't contain my excitement.haha. I went back to the store by 3pm and lo and behold, there she was pretty as can be. I was so starstruck that I dind't have the nerve to approach her, so instead of going straight inside the store, I made a detour to the store beside it. I decided I needed to brace myself first before officially meeting her. After a couple'a minutes, I went back to the store and to my disappointment, SHE WAS NOT THERE ANYMORE!  I waited for another half hour and she didn't come back. Boo me!

My shoes were taking a toll on my feet so I decided to go home and wallow into depression. On the way home, I wanted to check out twitter to see if she tweeted something about her whereabouts.haha stalker much? So I dropped by an internet cafe around Divisoria and I  surfed for a good 5 minutes only just to check twitter and when I didn't find anything, I just had to go back.

While I was in the commute, I realized my phone was missing. OH CRAP, I forgot my phone at the cafe! MAJOR EPIC FAIL! I could only pray it was still there when I get back.

I look like a retard next to her.haha. So pretty!

There was so much adrenaline in me that I didn't have time to be shy when I approached Ms. Uy. The happiness of having to see her again was mixed with terror knowing anyone could have a hold of my phone and never return it. After taking a picture, I was able to chat a little with her and went immediately back to the cafe to ask if they saw a phone left at the 3rd computer. I felt so relieved when they handed it to me, I could hug them.haha

I would like to thank the lady who offered to take my picture with Kryz Uy. I think I was not able to thank her in such a hurry to get back to the cafe. I would also like to express my gratitude to the young gentlemen who were honest enough to return my phone. Thank you so much!

I dint mean for this to be a long post. I always get carried away when telling a story.haha

Sacrifices.

I apologize for bailing out on you for a couple'a days, it's been a helluva week, you have no idea. I'll spare you the nonsensical details and the endless drama, but I just have to get something off my chest. Don't worry, it won't take long (I hope! haha).

Anywhoodles, I just had the longest "mature" talk with my mom and I don't know why she always make me cry whenever she talks about something serious. We have been discussing about the possibility of a change of my career and moving to a bigger city on my own. But because of certain circumstances and considerations with regards to family matters, I have decided to stay home and stick with my career.

As much as I want to follow what my heart tells me, there are certain things or people that I just cannot leave behind. Like my mom. She has made a lot of sacrifices for the family for the past years, and she's not getting any younger. Whenever I see my mom hard at work, juggling financial matters, since my sister still has a long way to go to finish school, I would love for her to go and retire. She has been working for too long and I believe she deserves a break after all these years.

For the past few days, I have been having second thoughts on the career path I was about to take. But tonight, when my mom talked to me, I have found the answer that I have been looking for. I have decided to stay because it is time I repay my mom. It is time for me to make my own sacrifice for my family. I know I could always do the things that I want in the future if God permits me so, but right now, my family needs me. So I will be there, and try to be the "mature" person that I'm supposed to.
