To Mondays and New Beginnings!

Since I didn't have much plans for today, I decided to go with my sister for my nephew's very first haircut. And yes, I was the photographer/nanny/baggage counter the whole time. We had to stop by the area where kids could ride this toy cars to calm him down before going to the salon.

My sister with his son, Gab

And to our surprise, the salon also had these toy car thingy for kids. how cool is that?

Look how long his hair already is

He was having fun up until his barber came along.haha
And as soon as the barber introduced himself, he wanted out of that car pronto!

His mom had to carry him all throughout to keep him from throwing a tantrum.ahaha

On the way home, we grabbed some delish cookies from a new cafe downtown.

Cookies from Slick Cafe

I apologize big time for not posting my nephew's new haircut, I'm too tired to wrestle him for it. And I will be posting pictures about the new cafe I just mentioned once I get my hands on the wheel and have the courage to drive myself there.haha

On another note, I just discovered that a friend got married today. I have always been a fan of their relationship so I had to insert this post here. They were already lovebirds way back in high school and now, they are about to take on a new chapter of their lives together. Best wishes Karen and Aj!!

Hustle Bustle

Today was so hectic, I almost forgot what day it is. Wanna guess? It's Sun-freakin'-day and it felt like my week just started. I had to pick up some clothes for a wedding, and then run some errands for an upcoming birthday party. I could mention that I was able to sleep for an hour which turned out to be a bad idea 'coz I got late for my afternoon appointment ( which I hated so much because it was so embarrassing on my part). And then I had to run back to the house again to change and go to mass. Before I went home, I had to drop by the supermarket to buy some groceries..which then, leads us to the picture below.

I knew I had to sleep late so I bought Stik-o, my favorite wafer stick, although, technically there are only like 3 kinds of it but whatever, I like this waaaay better. I also snagged some fresh milk along with it. And the reason why I had to sleep late tonight, aside from the tapes I had to transcribe, is this:

Adam Levine of Maroon 5
Oh wait, this.
The voice was on and I can't dare miss an episode.
And this.

Masterchef US Season 2
I swear I switched channels as often as I change clothes in the morning trying to find the perfect outfit. I wouldn't miss Adam for the world. It's like our weekend date or something ( i have to lol with this, hahaha). Okay, sorry for that. So, how'd your weekend go?

At last!

After almost six months of waiting, I finally got my professional license! God knows how many times I've been to the office to check if it has arrived from Manila already and I swear, they fail me everytime. Those who applied later than me even got their license waaaaay ahead of me, I almost lost hope. But it's all worth the wait. I Know it doesn't make me less of a professional without the license but having to hold it in my hands is just overwhelming. And I was relieved beyond words when I saw that the picture they used was the better looking one.haha!  Aright, enough chitchat. Here's what it looks like:

Sorry for the quality of the pic, I just used my phone 'coz I can't find my camera. I've also been very idle this past few days, hence the dearth of any posts. But there'll be a lot of events next week so I hope I would be able to post something new and exciting. Keep posted

Legendary Summer

A few months ago, before it occurred to me that i really needed a job ( which totally sucks), I actually had a life. Me and my friends wanted to enjoy the summer before it ended so we decided to go to the beach and have fun!
It was still early when we arrived so there were only few people around.

Group pic: Naihma, Meg, Binque, Quinzy, Eden and me

Me and Tiffany

Another group shot

Quinzy and me

Painted my nails neon!

We had neon slippers too!

You'd never know how many times we had to do this to
capture the perfect jump shot.haha

I thought this was a great shot of us.
We never planned to ride this so we just posed and took a shot right next to it.
We couldn't contain ourselves so we decided to ride it nalang.haha
And off we go!

We had individual photoshoots and mine was this.

All I remember looking back was that I had a fun. Thanks to Meg and Eden for bringing their cameras and producing legendary pictures like this. To Binque and Quinzy for the ride home. And to Nyma and Tiffany for the company. Good times like this are definitely priceless and I'm glad I spent that day with you.

Pretty Quirky

As I was ranting some fun facts about chocolates in my recent post, I suddenly had an instant compulsion to share some of my own. And the runner up for the title? The Curious Case of a Wide-eyed Wondergirl. Not bad ‘eh? Okay, maybe a little too wordy.Oh well, here goes nothing.

1. I tend to forget things easily almost all of the time. Even if someone just said it to me, I forget about it in about 30 seconds..or maybe more..but that’s not the point. I think I might die of Alzheimer’s or just forgetting how to breathe. Yikes!

2. I can’t swim. And I could only blame myself for being too paranoid when I was younger. ‘Coz now, as much as I love to do swimming, I’m just too scared to learn it anymore. A fortune teller once told me I would die drowning. True Story.

3. I love seafood, especially crabs and shrimps. I know, not good for the diet, but who cares? I’m not even into one.

4. I am not a gadget person. Although sometimes I envy those fancy pants who have the latest Iwhatever, I usually prefer buying new clothes and shoes than the latest model of IPhone or tag-along-the-neck SLR’s.

5. I love solitary walks early in the morning. It makes me think of things I’m usually too busy thinking about when I’m  working.

6. I am a sucker for soap operas especially the romantic ones. I mean there are those that are really cheezy but somehow others just make me feel ’kilig’ sometimes (talk about being hopeless romantic!)

7. When I drink using a straw, I always end up biting it. Orally fixated, maybe?

8. I am not the most organized person that you’ll meet. I am the only one in my circle of friends who actually doesn’t have an organizer. My friend gave me once as a gift and I was only able to use the January part of it, and the rest of the year was not filled up at all, heck, I don’t even know where that organizer is now. And another  thing, you don’t wanna go inside my room. Trust me.

9. I hate being yelled at and sometimes, when I can‘t really hold it in, I cry. I just don’t understand why some people shout or yell at another person when it’s easier to just talk calmly. Less energy used and no one gets emotionally hurt. It’s a win-win situation for everybody.

10. I’m a self -confessed and self-labeled fashion-atic. Although if you see me in person, you wouldn’t easily identify because sometimes I dress like I just came out of bed (well, not really but you get the point). I am more into dressing up other people and I love the feeling of being able to dress someone up.

So that’s it! I hope I didn’t bore you with all these non-sense. But hey, we might bump into each other one day, then you’d know where to treat me for dinner. Or if not, I know a good prawn house just around the corner.  We all have a certain quirkiness in each one of us , I’d love to hear one of yours.

Toothsome Gratification

Since this will be more of a food entry, I’m experiencing constipation of words right about just now. Ooops, forgive me for putting 'food' and 'constipation' together in one sentence. Going back, don’t get me wrong, I love food, I love seeing pictures of dishes I didn’t even know exist, I drool over mouthwatering desserts that are too good  to devour, I even once dreamt of being a world-class chef. And yes, Gordon Ramsay is one hot chef. But I‘d rather eat than write about it, I might embarrass myself and I might not be able to give justice to it. I‘d just leave that to the food bloggers out there.

But since today is a special day, I’m begging you to give me a pass on this and allow me to embarrass myself. So, what’s the occasion then? Nothing much. I just had a day full of disaster(okay maybe that’s too much to describe it). But yeah, I was extra clumsy today which frustratingly domino-ed into uneventful situations. Series of unfortunate events, yeah? So what better way to end my day? A box of chocolates. A box of mouthwatering, jaw dropping, toothache-worthy chocolates.

And since, I'm not the most talented when it comes to food blogging, I'm gonna bore you with this:

1.  The word Chocolate comes from the Aztec word xocolatl, meaning, bitter water.
(Visit http://www.chocolatemonthclub.com/chocolatehistory.htm for a full history of chocolates)

2. Chocolate is poisonous to dogs (and other domestic animals). The Theobromine found in chocolate is a stimulant, and can be too much for small animals.

3. Chocolate contains high-quality anti oxidants that can protect you from developing cancer and heart disease.

4. Chocolate's melting point is just below your body temperature, so it melts in your mouth. Melting chocolate in your mouth raises brain activity and heart rate more intensely than passionate kissing, and lasts four times longer!
5. Dark chocolate stored under perfect conditions will last for 10 years.

6. Chocolate is associated with the release of serotonin, the hormone that makes you feel relaxed, calm, and happy.
7. Hershey's is the oldest and largest chocolate company in the U.S.

8. White chocolate has no caffeine. In fact, white chocolate isn't chocolate at all. White chocolate is based on fat (vegetable oil or cocoa butter) and sugar, without any cocoa solids.
9. Women crave chocolate more than men.
10. The most expensive chocolate in the world is a $250 creation, called the Madeleine, by Fritz Knipschildt of Knipschildt Chocolatier in South Norwalk, Connecticut. With the price of $250, these chocolates cost approximately $2,600 per pound! Here's what it looks like:

It would take forever before I can buy this kind of chocolate. For the meantime, I'll gratify myself with this:

Last one left!

I hope you enjoyed this one.Have a sweet weekend everyone!

Accueillez en arrière! (Welcome back!)

So how does this work again?? After  months of “hibernating” as I may put it, I’m planning to start on this all over again, and hopefully this time,  be able to stick with it.

It was not until yesterday when a friend asked me to follow her blog that I remembered mine, which quite frankly and sadly, was already buried into the deepest part of my  temporal lobe. I guess a got a little too preoccupied with life and the what-nots of it.

So bear with me for a lot has already happened that is still to be written (and I pray to God I will have the time and the same enthusiasm that I had before, to continue blogging).

As I bum into my bunk bed and ponder on my next post, why not scroll back to the posts I made a few months ago? I guarantee you’ll enjoy it as much as I did.

Yes, that's me with my red nails!
And hey, don’t forget your speech for my “welcome back” party. Kiddin’ of course.
